Like many new large cities in the Middle East, it’s just another huge lump of generic inherently uncultured oppressive superficial miserable concrete jungle desert hell hole. The pollution everywhere makes the US look like Bhutan! And yes, before you ask I’ve live there a year. A year too much

My theory is they're doing this to make up for a loss of revenue and so theyre having to make up for lost $ in other ways. Today I got fined for having modified the wheels on my sports sedan....like what? The wheels on this BMW M4 are completely black and they have always been this way straight from the showroom. I got handed a 1000 dirham fine for "modifying" them and when I protested I was basocally told to shut up or to not do too much "gar gar" by the officer. When I went to the police station, I was again told to "register my complain via an email address" or by going to court. However, I was told that if i go to court and lose my appeal, Ill be liable for an even bigger fine and possiblely jail time for "making a false accusation against a police officer......." You can guess why I wont be pursuing "justice" in the "court of law" This is the 3rd time something like this has happenes to me poat-Covid and the 2nd instance in this week alone between me and my friends. Extemely frustating when cash is already tighter post-covid and when some officer can just come by and hand out a fat ticket without any sort of accountability
